Shawl Ministry
Health Ministries

The Shawl Ministry members knit, crochet, sew, quilt shawls, or make them from fleece.  The shawls are prayed over while being made and then blessed by the Clergy before being sent on to those who need St. Luke's to wrap its arms around them.

Over 100 shawls have been distributed in the last year, with recipients being as young as newborns to those who are elderly.  Shawls have been distributed locally, as well as being sent to St. Jude's in Memphis, TN and as far away as Washington state.

The shawls are made usually in a pattern on three, which signifies the Trinity.
