Honduras Mission Trips
For more than ten years St. Luke's has done mission work in Central America. We began with work in El Salvador, and most recently, in response to our diocesan companion relationship with the Deanery of Copan, we have begun regular mission visits to help build up the churches and pastors. About fourteen congregations ranging from well organized to barely organized comprise the Deanery; Fr. Juan Jose Diaz is the only priest in the Deanery.
Thank you for your interest in our outreach in Honduras.

The Diocese of Louisiana & Honduras
Long standing relationships of mission in Honduras are part of the history of the Diocese of Louisiana. At present, the Diocese is in an official "companion relationship" with two deaneries in Honduras (Copan and Maya).
About St. Luke’s in Honduras
St. Luke’s supports our Diocesan Companion relationship with Copan by focusing its work in three areas:
- To support the priest and his family so that they can better minister to their people.
- To build up the local churches through training and material support.
- To transform the communities through education and training.

Our Most Recent Team Trip: February, 2011
The June 2011 trip was focused on team work in Chalmeca in the Copan Deanery. Building rehab, a sewing workshop, and a children's Bible school were the projects.
Target Date for next trip: May or June 2012.
Contact us for information at the email links below! Cost for an individual to participate is about $750 for a week (all inclusive except airfare, which is generally about $650 round trip New Orleans, often more from BR).
If you would like to contribute to our work in Honduras, y ou may make a secure online donation below, send offerings to the Church, or place them in the offering plates at any worship service (please mark your checks "Honduras Missions”). Our mission work in Honduras is not supported by the regular parish operating budget, but rather through special gifts from those who wish to help in that way.
