Formed in early 2018, this committee is charged with discerning the parish’s call in the community and providing members of St. Luke’s the opportunity to contribute their time, talent, and treasure outside the church parish.
Service opportunities planned for 2018 include: Installing fire alarms in low-income households with the American Red Cross (April 28); building homes with Habitat for Humanity (May 5); preparing and serving meals at St. Vincent de Paul Homeless Shelter (June 3); stocking food pantry shelves for Hope Ministries; completing minor home repairs for elderly, disabled, and low-income people with Mid City Redevelopment Alliance; filling detergent bags for Volunteers of America laundry center
Committee members are Lisa Lee, co-chair; David Palmer, co-chair, Owen Cope, Tyler DeFrances, Robert Hinkle, Lacy Howe, Adam MacDowell, and Todd Ulmer.

Join us from 8 am until 3 pm on Saturday, May 5 to help Habitat for Humanity build a home for a mother and her five children in Baton Rouge. No construction skills or knowledge required. Volunteers must be age 16 and up. To sign up, email committee member Rob Hinkle, firstname.lastname@example.org.
