As of late September 2019, recent accomplishments of each of the committees:
The Endowment Committee, with Vestry approval, granted a tuition grant application of a School family.
The Mission & Outreach Committee reported that the September missions are The Lot Project (breakfast for the homeless) and Hope Ministries (assisting with groceries). There will be a Habitat Build in October.
Lisa Lee is stepping down as chair of Mission and Outreach and has been a tremendous force in developing and leading this committee over the last two years. We appreciate her service and want to thank her for all of her hard work.
The Stewardship Committee’s kick-off for Stewardship Sunday is October 6, with a letter to 350 families. “Shepherding St. Luke’s” is the new branding for the pledge drive. Pledge forms and pledging will be available online. All ministries are encouraged to pledge 100%.
Recent land sales put St. Luke’s in a stronger position to move forward with plans to replace our legacy buildings as well as maintenance of existing bdgings. Our Vestry created the Vision 21 Committee to lay the groundwork for next steps to support our parish facility needs and our mission. We’d like to thank Chuck Duggar who has served as chairman will be stepping down and remain on the committee. The new chair will be Lacy Howe.
The Welcoming & Connecting Committee is focused on 5th Sunday Italiano on Sept 29 and will send out invitations to all newcomers. Anne has developed a “Sunday School” map and is working on a campus map for St. Luke’s.
The Vestry Nominating Committee, through Jim Thompson, discussed ideas to improve the vestry election process, to reach as many nominees who have never served on the Vestry as possible and to reach out to parishioners with Vestry videos and presentations during Christian Formation classes.
