Education for Ministry (EfM) at St. Luke's will resume October 15 with weekly meetings under the mentorship of Fr. Chris Golding. EfM is a theological education that involves weekly readings, reflection, and seminar discussions.
"Every Christian's ministry starts in the waters of baptism. In baptism we die to our old selves and live into a new life; a life in which each aspect of each day we find ourselves called as ministers of God's Kingdom. That Kingdom, breaking into the world through the person of Jesus, draws us into a place where everything we do is expressed out of a love for that same Christ, empowered by God's Spirit of love and grace.
The Education for Ministry (EfM) program is an intentional way of going deeper on that journey through a) learning to think and speak "theologically," b) engaging in the practice of self-reflection in relation to theology and the Scriptures, c) practicing a new way of life, faith, and ministry which emerges through these practices. It's an exciting, challenging, and engaging program that will leave you -- not just gifted with knowledge -- but forever changed and empowered for ministry in God's world!"
Please come meet Fr. Chris and current participants in the Church Library at 12:30 pm on October 7 to see if EfM is right for you! You'll hear stories of EfM's positive impact from those who've already started the program and learn exactly what to expect in the 2018-2019 academic year.
For more details or to register now for EfM, please contact Fr. Chris by October 8. (225) 926-5343 x231 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
