Reading Recommendations for Advent

Fr. Chris Golding put together a short list of reading and reflections for the Advent season. Take a few minutes to look it over and hopefully find something new. These books are available online from BetterWorldBooks, Book Depository, or Amazon. Happy Reading! Preparing for Christmas by Richard Rohr: This 2012 book is my new purchase for Advent this year. Dec. 1: Boxwood & Beignets

All are invited to attend the sixth annual “Boxwood and Beignets” on Sunday, December 1, to assemble fresh boxwood Advent wreaths that will last beautifully throughout the season. In Witter Hall, we'll have activities for the children, plus wreath supplies, beignets, hot chocolate and coffee. Advent candles and prayer devotionals will be on hand, too. Please join us for a St. Luke's Advent tradition! Suggested donation: $20.

Nov. 24: Evensong with Greater St. Luke

Last year's Collaborative Evensong with our friends at Greater St. Luke Baptist Church was such a blessing, so we're doing it again! Please mark your calendars for an Evensong service at 5:30 pm on November 24, featuring choirs from both churches. The theme for this year's collaboration will be "Thanksgiving"— we are indeed grateful for God's daily blessings! Reception to follow. Please bring a friend. Free and open to all!

Nov. 28: Thanksgiving Outreach

Each year, St. Luke's partners with community organizations to find people in need of a Thanksgiving meal, and then we meet those needs by providing the food and assembling to-go boxes full of traditional holiday fare. Please sign up to participate in this ministry! Forms can be found in the church foyer this Sunday. *Please note that due to limited storage and time restrains, we cannot accept food donations before Thanksgiving morning, and we cannot accept frozen food. If you're unable to participate in this ministry on Thanksgiving morning, please consider a monetary donation in advance, using "Thanksgiving Outreach" as the check memo. Thank you! Questions?
