A member since 2006, Jason Danos was elected to the St. Luke's Vestry in January 2020. Learn more about him below...
I grew up in LaPlace, LA. I attended St. Joan of Arc Catholic school through 8th grade & graduated from St. Charles Catholic High School in 1993. My wife, Ashley, and I have 3 children who attend Episcopal School of Baton Rouge. Regan is 12, Morgan is 9, and Logan is 8. I have 2 sisters – my oldest sister lives in Seattle, and my younger sister lives in Mandeville. My parents live in Hammond.
My wife’s family have been parishioners of St. Luke’s for many years. Ashley and I were married at St. Luke’s in 2007, and we have been parishioners since just before then.
I have a Chemical Engineering degree from Louisiana Tech, summa cum laude. I own a company, Kinetix Solutions, which provides specialty chemicals and consulting services in the industrial sector around the world, primarily in North America & the Caribbean.
I enjoy the hospitality ministry of St. Luke’s, especially the cooking & planning portions. This includes 5th Sundays, special events, etc. One of my favorite memories at St. Luke's happened when “Santa Claus” made a surprise appearance at the Christmas Eve Vigil mass to receive communion.
As for my favorite scripture, I enjoy fishing, as does my family. At our camp we have a small decoration on the wall quoting Matthew 4:19… “'Come, follow Me,' Jesus said, 'and I will make you fishers of men.'”
My favorite season at St. Luke's is the Christmas season. During this season, there is always a “buzz” around the church. The church decorations, flowers, & trees give a new perspective. It also brings families together, and it is nice to see the regular parishioners along with their extended families who may be visiting from out of town.
St. Luke’s has a great “core” atmosphere of parishioners. It’s more of a large “family” than just a church parish. The St. Luke’s family always seems to be ready & willing to help when members are in need. Sometimes I can’t believe how quickly St. Luke’s is able to respond to those needs.
I enjoy cooking, traveling on vacations with the family, and attending sports events.
On the weekend, we enjoy LSU tailgating on Saturdays, attending the game with our family , and then celebrating the “win” at Church on Sunday.
I hope to bring my talents & thoughts to the vestry & St. Luke’s. I’m an analytical thinker & tend to state the facts & analyze decisions. I believe the vestry is healthiest with a balance of personalities & talents.
