Dear St. Luke’s Church Family,
As we begin our annual Stewardship Campaign, let’s be reminded that, as much as things may have changed, St. Luke’s has remained a constant in our lives. What we all considered to be normal, everyday life has changed dramatically, but St. Luke’s has not. The St. Luke’s community has been the firm foundation of hope that it always has been. We have continued to gather in spirit, if not in person, and we’re looking forward, with hope. We are all ready for things to return to “normal” and part of that is remembering with gratefulness that St. Luke’s is there for us.
Thank you for continuing to give during this unprecedented time. We know that the COVID-19 pandemic may have affected your ability to contribute as you would like. We know that some of you may have friends and family in the Hurricane Laura devastated area and we pray for relief and comfort for those affected. But if you are able, no amount pledged is too small. Remember that “All this is for your benefit so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.” 2 Corinthians 4:15
Yes, making a pledge helps the Vestry and our church leaders plan a budget; but making a pledge is first and foremost a “thank you note” to God. Making a pledge helps St. Luke’s continue its many ministries. And pledging opens the doors of involvement in our Church. It allows us to be a part of something greater, with a bigger impact on our Church community and on the community of Baton Rouge.
We hope that all of you remain safe and healthy during this unreal reality. If you have questions or concerns about making a pledge or would like to talk with someone about ways to get involved in our many Church ministries, please feel free to reach out to our wonderful clergy or someone on the Stewardship Committee.
Love in Christ,
St. Luke’s Stewardship Committee
