The responsibilities of the Parish Secretary include:
- Manage daily office tasks (phones, emails, appointments, supplies & equipment).
- Greet and welcome parishioners and other visitors to the church office.
- Prepare Sunday bulletins, as well as bulletins for special services such as funerals and weddings.
- Communicate the monthly lay ministry schedule.
- Maintain church records using ACS Realm, including in/out parish transfers and updates to allbirth, baptism, confirmation, marriage, death, and service attendance records.
- Support clergy and staff with administrative needs.
- Coordinate parish events and facility use, including volunteers.
- Handle sensitive information with discretion and care.
- The Parish Secretary will also perform other duties as directed by the Rector
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher), Google Docs.
- 10-key data entry accuracy and speed.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Friendly and professional interpersonal style.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Experience with church management softward (e.g., Realm, MSP) a plus.
