The responsibilities of the Parish Secretary include:

  • Manage daily office tasks (phones, emails, appointments, supplies & equipment).
  • Greet and welcome parishioners and other visitors to the church office.
  • Prepare Sunday bulletins, as well as bulletins for special services such as funerals and weddings.
  • Communicate the monthly lay ministry schedule.
  • Maintain church records using ACS Realm, including in/out parish transfers and updates to allbirth, baptism, confirmation, marriage, death, and service attendance records.
  • Support clergy and staff with administrative needs.
  • Coordinate parish events and facility use, including volunteers.
  • Handle sensitive information with discretion and care.
  • The Parish Secretary will also perform other duties as directed by the Rector

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher), Google Docs.
  • 10-key data entry accuracy and speed.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Friendly and professional interpersonal style.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Experience with church management softward (e.g., Realm, MSP) a plus.
