TITLE: Communications Coordinator
ACCOUNTABLE TO: Rector
HOURS PER WEEK: Up to 20
St. Luke’s is looking for a proficient communicator who is adept at liaising with a diverse staff and volunteer base. The applicant should be highly motivated, creative, energetic, and proficient with a wide range of online communications applications. A knowledge of a church or non-profit environment is highly desirable.
The responsibilities of the Communications Coordinator include:
- Attending weekly staff meetings
- Accessing information as needed from ACS Realm (church membership database)
- Managing/Updating information on the church website
- Administering and posting relevant information to the church’s Social Media accounts
- Support and maintain St. Luke’s live streaming presence (video and audio)
- Compiling and distributing the weekly parish newsletter
- Working with Lay Leaders to create promotional materials for ministries
- Creating and distributing parish-wide emails for events and ministries
- Creating weekly bulletin announcements
- Maintaining current information on church bulletin boards
- Helping to create communications for external publication
- Providing St. Luke’s information to the Diocesan Office for publication
This position requires proficiency with social media, a basic knowledge of web design, familiarity with drag and drop systems (such as those used by Constant Contact and MailChimp) and proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Publisher and Word). It also requires comfort with Eventbrite, Zoom, Canva, YouTube, Vimeo, SoundCloud, and other web-based communications and event management solutions.
