Immunizations ‘R’ Us!

On Sunday, October 9, from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm, Albertson’s will be in the Library/Office to give flu and COVID vaccines. Here’s the latest and greatest on what will be available:

For those ages 3 years to 65: The flu vaccine will be available and given only in the upper arm.

For those ages 65 and over: The Fluzone HD (high-dose flu vaccine) will be available.

Both Moderna and Pfizer COVID boosters will be available, as well as the vaccine for the primary series. Bring your white CDC vaccination record.
Those who have completed the primary series using Pfizer AND are 12 years or older are eligible for the new bivalent COVID booster, as long as their last dose was at least 2 months ago.

Those who have completed the primary series using Moderna AND are 18 years or older are eligible for the new bivalent COVID booster, as long as their last dose was at least 2 months ago.

Here is the at-a-glance chart for vaccinations: https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/covid-19/downloads/COVID-19-vacc-schedule-at-a-glance-508.pdf

To schedule your appointment on October 9, please use this QR code:
Selecting the QR code will take you to a screen that says “Wellness Clinic Appointment.” Select Continue, and the next screen will ask you which vaccines you are interested in getting. You want to select the box that says October 2022 and the available times below. Selecting continue will allow you to enter demographic data. After completing that, the next selection will be for an email address and then an acknowledgment of receiving a HIPPA Notice. There is then a brief medical history to complete before signing the consent.

You will get an email from Albertson’s confirming your appointment. The consent itself will be available to download from that email.
What if I don’t want to schedule an appointment? Walk-ins are welcome! Bring your medical insurance card, friends and family! Extra consent forms will be available.

What if I need to adjust my appointment time or cancel my appointment? The confirmation email from Albertson’s is where to go if you need to either adjust your appointment time or cancel your appointment.
Thank you for helping Baton Rouge be healthier!

Extra forms will be available during the immunizations.
