Lord Jesus Christ, by your death you took away the sting of death: Grant to us your servants so to follow in faith where you have led the way, that we may at length fall asleep peacefully in you and wake up in your likeness; for your tender mercies sake. Amen
. Book of Common Prayer, pg. 504.

There are many things we can control, and many we cannot. The final act of life, the passing to life eternal, is one that we will each have to face. How does one make their wishes known about how they want to live at this time?

The Five Wishes® is one way of addressing the issues surrounding dying, and is a gift to your family at a time when difficult decisions may need to be made. These wishes are: the person selected to make health care decisions when one can’t, the kind of medical treatment one wants, how comfortable one wants to be, how one wants to be treated by others, and finally, what one wants their loved ones to know. I invite you, your friends, and families, to come to this program on Sunday, March 5th, at 12:30 pm, in Library. The Five Wishes video and forms will be available, as well as information about making funeral plans in advance, information about organ donation and information about donations to medical schools. Please call the church office to register, 225-926-5343, as lunch will be served.

If you have any questions, please give me a buzz at the church office.

Faithfully yours,
becky
