Now that hurricane season is upon us, here’s a special website to help in so many ways. It’s Ready.gov. It is a great reference for people of all ages—it gives information about preparations for emergencies, and of particular interest to me are the preparations for hurricanes.

The kids’ section has games to learn to how to stay safe during a disaster, how to build a disaster kit, as well as a card game called Ready2Help, which can be either downloaded or ordered for free! Helping children cope after a disaster is an important role that each of us has, be we a parent, grandparent, family member, teacher, or friend of a child. On this page, https://www.ready.gov/helping-children-cope, are suggestions and tools to help children during this time.
